The Lanyon Building of Queen's University Belfast, a stunning red brick Tudor-Gothic structure

For a change of pace from the bustling city center, hop off at the Queen's University stop. This area, known as the Queen's Quarter, is rich in architecture, culture, and greenery.

Queen's University

The bus usually stops right in front of the Lanyon Building. Designed by Sir Charles Lanyon, this stunning Tudor-Gothic red brick building looks like something out of Harry Potter. It’s a fantastic photo opportunity.

Botanic Gardens

Just next door lies the Botanic Gardens. Why visit?

  • The Palm House: An intricate Victorian glasshouse (older than Kew Gardens' famous Palm House!) filled with tropical plants.
  • The Tropical Ravine: Recently restored, this sunken ravine is steamy, lush, and beautiful.
  • The Rose Garden: Perfect for a summer stroll.

Ulster Museum

Located inside the Botanic Gardens is the Ulster Museum.

  • Cost: FREE entry!
  • What's inside: Everything from dinosaur bones and Egyptian mummies to an incredibly detailed exhibit on The Troubles and modern Irish history.
  • Game of Thrones: It houses the famous 77-meter long tapestry depicting the entire series.

This stop offers hours of entertainment for free. It’s ideal for families or budget travelers.
